Alejandro E. Chevalier

Alejandro Chevalier is an Associate in the Litigation & Dispute Resolution, Construction, and Arbitration practice areas at Britton & Iglesias.

Alejandro has extensive experience representing clients in complex commercial and investor-State disputes across various industries, including energy, construction, mining, maritime transportation, telecommunications, shareholder relations, and joint ventures. He has acted as counsel in arbitrations spanning multiple jurisdictions under major arbitral rules such as ICSID, UNCITRAL, ICC, FINRA, and IACAC.

At the domestic level, Alejandro has represented clients in arbitration proceedings as well as in annulment and enforcement actions related to arbitral awards. Additionally, he has represented clients in the recognition and enforcement of foreign judgments and arbitral awards under international treaties and conventions, as well as Panamanian law.

The Legal 500 has ranked Alejandro as a Leading Associate in Dispute Resolution in Panama.

Alejandro is a frequent speaker and regularly publishes on arbitration-related topics. He is also an active board member of multiple dispute resolution associations.

Before joining Britton & Iglesias, Alejandro practiced in the international dispute resolution departments of two leading law firms in the United States, as well as in one of the largest and most established law firms in Panama.
